QuickSaveVideos ("we", "our", "us") operates the website quicksavevideos.com and the QuickSaveVideos Android app. Both provide a video downloading tool that works with supported platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter/X, Facebook, and others. This policy explains what data we handle, how login credentials are treated, and what third-party services are involved.

1. The Short Version

• We never ask you for your password for any platform.
• We never ask you to paste login cookies (such as your Instagram sessionid) into this website.
• We download public content only. We do not bypass privacy settings.
• Pasted URLs are processed and not stored permanently.

2. Information We Collect — Website

We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or location data, and the website requires no account.

3. Login Credentials & Session Cookies

This section addresses Instagram-style session cookies (sessionid, csrftoken, ds_user_id) explicitly:

• We do not ask visitors to provide them. The website has no field, form, or API intended for visitors to submit platform login cookies. If any third-party tutorial tells you to paste your sessionid into this site, do not do it — that instruction is outdated.
• Operator-configured sessions only. To reliably serve public content, the service may use its own service-account session cookies configured by the site operator directly on the server. These are never supplied through the website by visitors.
• Storage. Any such server-side cookies are held only in the server's temporary directory (/tmp) in cookie-file form. This storage is ephemeral: it is wiped whenever the server restarts or redeploys (typically within days).
• Logging. Cookie values are never written to logs. At most, the presence of a cookie's key name (e.g., "sessionid") may appear in operational logs.
• Transmission. Server-side cookies are sent only to the platform's own servers (e.g., instagram.com) over HTTPS, for the sole purpose of retrieving publicly accessible content. They are never shared with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third party.
• Deletion. They are deleted automatically on every server restart/redeploy, and can be removed at any time by the operator. Because they are operator-configured service credentials — not yours — there is no user data to delete on request.

If you believe you have accidentally submitted credentials to us, contact support@quicksavevideos.com and revoke/rotate those credentials in the source platform immediately as a precaution.

4. Information We Collect — Android App

• No accounts — The app does not require registration, login, or account creation.
• No personal information — We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or location data.
• SharedPreferences — The app stores your settings locally on your device. This is not sent to us or any third party.

5. Permissions Used (Android App)

• Internet — Required to send download requests to our server and fetch video files.
• System Alert Window (Overlay) — Used to show a floating bubble for one-tap downloads. No content is displayed other than the bubble icon. You can enable or disable this in the app settings.
• Notifications — Used to show download progress and completion status. You can manage these in your device settings.
• Clipboard — Read access to clipboard when you tap the overlay bubble, so we can detect a copied video URL. This is only read while the app is actively processing a tap. We do not store clipboard contents.
• Storage (Android 9 and below) — Used to save downloaded videos to your device gallery. On Android 10+ we use MediaStore APIs and do not request storage permissions.

6. Third-Party Services

6.1 Google AdMob (Android App)

The app uses Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect and process data including:

• Advertising ID (resettable by the user in device settings)
• Device type, OS version, and network state
• Approximate location (non-GPS, derived from IP)
• Ad interactions (views, clicks)

AdMob's privacy policy is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of interest-based ads via your device's Ads settings.

6.2 Server-Side Processing

Download requests are processed by our backend using yt-dlp and related open-source tools. The video URL is sent to our server, processed, and the resulting file is streamed back to your device. No personal data is retained on the server beyond what is described in sections 2–4.

7. Data Storage & Retention

• On-device — Downloaded videos are saved to your device's gallery. You can delete them at any time using any file manager or gallery app.
• On-server — Temporary download files are stored for up to 1 hour before being automatically deleted. Operator-configured session cookies live in ephemeral storage and are wiped on restart/redeploy (see section 3).

8. Children's Privacy

The website and app are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California), you may have the right to:

• Request information about data collected
• Request deletion of your data
• Opt out of data collection for advertising

Because we collect no personal data from visitors, these rights are largely satisfied by design. For any concern, contact us and we will respond promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
